Join PTM staff, volunteers, members, and friends of the Museum for our Zoom series, Trolleyology! Donations support our programming and are welcome and encouraged.
Presented by David Warner
Two shows in one!
"Broadway Drake" followed by "That Doesn't Look Bicentennial to Me"
When we last saw Dave on the streets of Pittsburgh in the Trolleyology show One Month and Counting, he was photographing the 42/38 route in Beechview. In August 1972, just after his 18th birthday, he had an opportunity to spend half a day in Pittsburgh, during which he completed his photographic coverage of the line. With a bit of sunlight left, he was able to do some limited photography on the former Washington interurban route.
The following May, he took part in the Northwestern Pennsylvania Electric Traction Association, Inc.’s, Memorial Day Weekend Streetcar Excursion. This trip provided opportunities for unique images on nearly all the remaining revenue trackage in the South Hills. Unfortunately, the equipment for the trip didn’t quite work out as advertised.
Grab your oversized popcorn tub, giant sized box of candy and two-liter fountain drink, settle into your favorite seat, and enjoy Pittsburgh streetcars at the dawn of the rainbow era.
