Greater Cleveland Regional Trnsit Authority: The Formative Years (1975-1985)
Presented by Rich Krisak

This presentation describes the success of the formative first ten years of creating the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCTRA). It demonstrates how Cleveland's transit was revitalized, rationalized and restructured into a true regional transit system, created out of seven independent transit providers. It is also a story of how RTA was able fund and manage the largest capital program in its' history, rebuilding and replacing long neglected infrastructure and rolling stock, creating a foundation for the future. The presentation also discusses the failure to expand the system.
